Responsibilities
- Patient Assessment & Care: Conduct thorough initial and ongoing patient assessments to develop individualized care plans.
- Medication Administration: Accurately administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians, adhering to all safety protocols.
- Collaboration: Work closely with physicians, nurse practitioners, and other healthcare team members to ensure holistic patient care.
- Patient Education: Educate patients and their families on disease prevention, post-discharge care, and healthy lifestyle choices.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records and electronic health records (EHR) in compliance with regulatory standards.
- Emergency Response: Respond promptly to medical emergencies and critical situations within the unit.
- Infection Control: Enforce strict infection control measures to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.
Qualifications
- Licensure: Current, active Registered Nurse (RN) license issued by the North Carolina Board of Nursing.
- Education: Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical nursing experience preferred.
- Skills: Strong critical thinking, excellent communication skills, and proficiency with electronic medical records.
- Interpersonal: Demonstrated ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
- Soft Skills: Empathy, patience, and a patient-centered approach to care.
