Responsibilities
- Prescription Processing: Verify prescription accuracy, check for drug interactions, and prepare medications for dispensing under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Inventory Management: Monitor stock levels, manage incoming shipments, and ensure proper storage of pharmaceutical products according to safety regulations.
- Customer Service: Interact with patients to answer questions regarding medications, provide medication counseling, and ensure a positive pharmacy experience.
- Regulatory Compliance: Maintain strict adherence to HIPAA guidelines, state pharmacy laws, and company policies regarding patient confidentiality and safety.
- Quality Control: Perform routine inspections of the pharmacy environment and assist in the maintenance of accurate patient records and insurance documentation.
Qualifications
- Certification: Must possess or be willing to obtain a valid Pharmacy Technician Certification (PTCB or ExCPT) within 90 days of hire.
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
- Experience: Previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician is preferred but not required for candidates with strong technical aptitude and a passion for healthcare.
- Skills: Strong knowledge of pharmacy software systems and excellent attention to detail.
- Soft Skills: Effective communication skills and the ability to work well in a fast-paced team environment.
