Responsibilities
- Patient Assessment: Conduct comprehensive health assessments and monitor patient conditions to identify changes that require immediate intervention.
- Medication Administration: Safely administer medications and treatments according to physician orders and hospital protocols.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and timely electronic health records (EHR) documenting patient care, symptoms, and treatment responses.
- Collaboration: Communicate effectively with physicians, nursing staff, and other healthcare team members to ensure holistic patient care.
- Emergency Response: Respond promptly to code blue situations and other medical emergencies within the unit.
- Patient Education: Educate patients and their families on disease prevention, medication management, and post-discharge care plans.
Qualifications
- Education: Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing with an Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
- Licensure: Current, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Texas.
- Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers (AHA) required; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred within 6 months of hire.
- Experience: No prior patient care experience required (New Graduates welcome).
- Skills: Strong critical thinking, communication, and interpersonal skills. Compassionate demeanor with a focus on patient safety.
- Computer Literacy: Proficiency in navigating electronic health records and medical software.
