Responsibilities
- Deliver direct patient care and medication administration per physician orders
- Assess patient conditions, document medical histories, and monitor vital signs
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement care plans
- Educate patients and families on health conditions and treatment protocols
- Maintain accurate medical records and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and safety protocols
- Supervise LVNs and nursing assistants as needed
Qualifications
- Active Virginia RN license (required)
- BSN degree or equivalent experience
- Minimum 2 years of acute care nursing experience
- BLS and ACLS certifications (required)
- Strong communication and critical thinking skills
- Ability to work flexible shifts including weekends and holidays
- Experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems
- Commitment to professional development and continuing education
