Responsibilities
- Conduct initial patient assessments and monitor vital signs, including blood pressure, heart rate, and temperature.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians and according to hospital protocols.
- Document patient information accurately and promptly in electronic health records (EHR).
- Assist patients with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, and eating.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team.
- Observe and report any changes in a patient's condition to the charge nurse or physician immediately.
- Participate in unit-based quality improvement initiatives and continuing education.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Nursing Program (ADN, BSN, or ASN).
- Active RN License in New York State (or ability to obtain before start date).
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certifications.
- Strong communication skills and a genuine passion for patient care.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple priorities.
- Flexibility to work varying shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
