Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in medical/surgical units with 4-6 patients per shift
- Administer medications, monitor vital signs, and document electronic health records (EHR)
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans
- Educate patients and families on health conditions and discharge planning
- Respond to emergency situations with rapid assessment and intervention
- Maintain compliance with JCAHO and California nursing board regulations
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and patient safety programs
Qualifications
- Active California RN license (required)
- BSN degree preferred; ADN with 2+ years experience considered
- BLS and ACLS certifications (must be current)
- Minimum 1 year acute care experience in hospital setting
- Strong critical thinking and clinical assessment skills
- Excellent communication and patient advocacy abilities
- Experience with Epic EHR system preferred
- Ability to work 12-hour shifts including weekends/nights
