Responsibilities
- Patient Assessment & Care Planning: Conduct thorough patient assessments to identify health needs and develop individualized care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team.
- Medication Administration: Safely administer prescribed medications and treatments while monitoring for adverse reactions and patient responses.
- Collaborative Care: Work closely with physicians, therapists, and other staff to ensure holistic patient care and effective communication.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient medical records and electronic health records (EHR) in compliance with hospital policies.
- Patient Education: Educate patients and their families on disease prevention, health maintenance, and post-discharge care instructions.
- Emergency Response: Respond promptly to medical emergencies and critical situations, utilizing advanced life support techniques as needed.
- Quality Improvement: Participate in quality assurance activities and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- Licensure: Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license issued by the State of Wisconsin.
- Certifications: BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certifications required.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of clinical nursing experience preferred; Med-Surg experience is a plus.
- Skills: Strong critical thinking, decision-making, and clinical assessment skills.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with patients, families, and colleagues.
- Adaptability: Ability to work flexible shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays as required by the department.
