Responsibilities
- Provide Direct Patient Care: Assist patients with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting, ensuring their dignity and comfort.
- Vital Signs Monitoring: Accurately measure and record patient vital signs, including temperature, pulse, blood pressure, and respiration rates.
- Assist with Mobility: Help patients move, transfer, or walk safely using assistive devices, adhering to all safety protocols.
- Document Care: Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and care logs as required by facility standards and state regulations.
- Communicate Changes: Report any changes in a patient's physical or emotional condition to the Registered Nurse (RN) or Charge Nurse immediately.
- Medication Support: Under the supervision of nursing staff, prepare and administer medication as directed, including verifying patient IDs.
- Environment Maintenance: Keep patient rooms and common areas clean, safe, and organized to prevent accidents and infections.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current and active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license in the State of Indiana.
- Training: Completion of an accredited CNA training program and state competency examination.
- CPR Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification (ACLS preferred but not required).
- Experience: Previous experience in a long-term care or hospital setting is highly preferred.
- Shift Availability: Ability to work flexible night shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long periods, lift patients (up to 50 lbs), and perform physical tasks as needed.
- Soft Skills: Excellent communication skills, empathy, and a patient-centered approach to care.
