Responsibilities
- Assess patient health needs, develop, and implement comprehensive care plans.
- Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders and hospital protocols.
- Monitor patient vital signs and report any changes in condition to the nursing supervisor or physician immediately.
- Document patient care activities, including intake and output, in electronic health records (EHR) accurately and timely.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure a holistic approach to patient care.
- Provide patient education and emotional support to patients and their families.
- Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, and safety regulations at all times.
Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited Nursing Program (ASN, BSN, or MSN).
- Current, active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Virginia (or willingness to obtain).
- CPR certification (BLS) required; ACLS preferred for some units.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a high-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Physical stamina to stand for long periods and assist patients with mobility.
