Responsibilities
- Provide Direct Patient Care: Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans in accordance with medical standards and protocols.
- Medication Administration: Safely administer prescribed medications and treatments while strictly adhering to safety guidelines and documentation standards.
- Vital Signs Monitoring: Continuously monitor patient vitals and report any significant changes to the attending physician or charge nurse immediately.
- Collaborative Care: Work closely with physicians, therapists, and other healthcare team members to ensure comprehensive patient recovery.
- Patient Education: Educate patients and their families on post-discharge care, medication regimens, and lifestyle adjustments to promote long-term health.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic health records (EHR) documenting patient interactions and progress.
- Emergency Response: Respond promptly to medical emergencies and assist in maintaining a safe, sterile, and organized environment.
Qualifications
- Licensure: Current and active Registered Nurse (RN) license issued by the Texas Board of Nursing.
- Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of nursing experience in a hospital or clinical setting preferred.
- Skills: Strong clinical judgment, critical thinking, and excellent communication skills.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for extended periods, lift patients (up to 50 lbs), and perform physical tasks as needed.
- Technology: Proficiency with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems.
- Professionalism: Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
