Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality patient care: Assess patient needs, administer medications, and implement care plans under the supervision of physicians and charge nurses.
- Monitor patient status: Observe and report changes in patient condition, symptoms, or response to treatment to ensure timely medical intervention.
- Collaborative Teamwork: Work closely with physicians, nurses, therapists, and other staff members to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Documentation: Accurately and timely document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes in electronic health records (EHR).
- Patient Education: Educate patients and their families on treatment plans, disease management, and healthy lifestyle choices.
- Emergency Response: Respond promptly to code blue situations and other medical emergencies within the department.
Qualifications
- Licensure: Current, active Registered Nurse (RN) license issued by the North Carolina Board of Nursing.
- Education: Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred based on unit specialty.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience preferred; new graduates encouraged to apply.
- Skills: Strong critical thinking, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Computer Proficiency: Must be proficient in navigating electronic medical record systems.
