Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care, including bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Monitor and record vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, and pulse, accurately and in a timely manner.
- Assist with mobility and transfer patients safely using proper techniques and equipment.
- Prepare and serve meals according to dietary restrictions and individual needs.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment for patients and staff.
- Document patient progress and care plans according to facility protocols.
Qualifications
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license required, valid in the District of Columbia.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
- Previous experience in a hospital, assisted living, or long-term care setting preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on patient empathy.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs as required by the role.
- Reliable transportation to and from the healthcare facility.
