Responsibilities
- Provide direct and individualized nursing care to an assigned group of patients based on their needs and medical plan.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians, accurately documenting all actions.
- Monitor, assess, and document patient vital signs, symptoms, and responses to treatments and medications.
- Collaborate effectively with physicians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement comprehensive care plans.
- Educate patients and their families on health conditions, medications, and self-care techniques, ensuring understanding and compliance.
- Maintain accurate, complete, and confidential patient medical records in accordance with hospital policies and regulatory standards.
- Respond promptly and effectively to medical emergencies, providing immediate assistance and coordinating with emergency teams.
- Adhere to all safety protocols, infection control policies, and ethical nursing practices.
Qualifications
- Current and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Illinois.
- Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of recent clinical experience as a Registered Nurse, preferably in an acute care setting.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred.
- Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a compassionate and professional demeanor.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative healthcare team.
- Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems.
