Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care, monitoring vital signs and administering medications as prescribed by physicians.
- Assess patient needs and develop individualized care plans to ensure optimal recovery and comfort.
- Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and the wider healthcare team to coordinate comprehensive treatment.
- Document patient history, symptoms, and progress accurately in electronic health records (EHR).
- Respond promptly to medical emergencies and critical situations with composure and professionalism.
- Educate patients and families on post-discharge care and disease prevention strategies.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary clinical environment at all times.
Qualifications
- Current and valid RN license to practice in the state of Virginia.
- Associate or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred; Diploma accepted.
- CPR and BLS certification required; ACLS preferred.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical experience in a hospital setting (Medical-Surgical preferred).
- Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills under pressure.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift patients as needed.
