Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and monitor vital signs to ensure optimal health outcomes.
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments in strict accordance with hospital protocols and safety standards.
- Collaborate with physicians, surgeons, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Document patient medical histories, symptoms, and responses to treatments accurately and in a timely manner.
- Educate patients and their families on disease prevention, medication management, and post-discharge care instructions.
- Respond promptly to medical emergencies and critical situations within the nursing unit.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment in accordance with infection control policies.
Qualifications
- Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of New York.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) is required.
- Minimum of 2 years of acute care nursing experience preferred.
- Strong critical thinking skills and the ability to make quick, sound decisions under pressure.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift patients as needed.
