Responsibilities
- Assist physicians with patient examinations, procedures, and diagnostic tests
- Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments under provider supervision
- Perform EKGs, phlebotomy, and point-of-care laboratory testing
- Document patient encounters accurately in EMR systems (EPIC)
- Coordinate patient flow and prepare examination rooms for procedures
- Provide patient education on treatment plans and medications
- Maintain strict HIPAA compliance and infection control protocols
Qualifications
- Graduate of accredited Medical Assistant program or equivalent certification
- Current BLS/CPR certification required
- Minimum 1 year clinical experience in hospital or urgent care setting
- Proficiency in venipuncture, EKG, and EMR documentation
- Ability to work independently and prioritize critical tasks
- Strong communication skills and cultural sensitivity
- Flexibility to work 12-hour night shifts (7pm-7am) with rotating weekends
