Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized care plans
- Administer medications, treatments, and therapeutic interventions per physician protocols
- Monitor patient vital signs, document clinical progress, and report changes to the healthcare team
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary staff to ensure coordinated patient care
- Educate patients and families on disease management and discharge planning
- Adhere to HIPAA compliance and maintain accurate medical documentation
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and emergency response protocols
Qualifications
- Valid NY State Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing
- BSN preferred; ADN with 2+ years acute care experience considered
- BLS certification required; ACLS and PALS preferred
- Minimum 1 year recent experience in acute care or med-surg setting
- Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) systems
- Strong critical thinking and clinical decision-making abilities
- Excellent communication skills and ability to thrive in fast-paced environments
