Responsibilities
- Direct Patient Care: Provide high-quality, compassionate care to patients across all age groups, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
- Medication Management: Accurately administer medications and treatments according to physician orders and hospital protocols.
- Collaborative Practice: Work closely with physicians, nurse practitioners, and other members of the healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and timely electronic health records (EHR) documenting patient status, care provided, and changes in condition.
- Emergency Response: Respond promptly to code blue alerts and medical emergencies with critical thinking and rapid intervention skills.
- Patient Education: Educate patients and their families on disease processes, medications, and discharge instructions to promote recovery and prevent readmission.
Qualifications
- Licensure: Valid and active Registered Nurse (RN) license issued by the New York State Department of Education.
- Certifications: BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certifications required; PALS preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical experience in a hospital or acute care setting.
- Availability: Must be available to work alternating weekends (Saturday and Sunday) on a rotating schedule.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with patients, families, and staff.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with electronic medical record systems (EMR/EHR).
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand, walk, lift, and maneuver patients for extended periods.
