Responsibilities
- Patient Assessment & Care: Conduct thorough patient assessments to identify needs, developing, implementing, and evaluating individualized nursing care plans.
- Medication Administration: Safely administer medications and treatments according to established protocols, physician orders, and state regulations.
- Vital Signs Monitoring: Continuously monitor patient vital signs and clinical status, reporting any significant changes or abnormalities to the healthcare team immediately.
- Collaborative Care: Collaborate effectively with physicians, nurse practitioners, therapists, and other interdisciplinary team members to ensure comprehensive patient outcomes.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate, timely, and detailed electronic health records (EHR) documenting patient history, symptoms, progress, and care provided.
- Patient Education: Educate patients and their families on diagnoses, treatment plans, post-discharge care instructions, and preventative health measures.
- Emergency Response: Respond promptly to emergencies and assist in maintaining a safe, sanitary environment for patients and staff.
Qualifications
- Licensure: Current, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license to practice in the state of Georgia.
- Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications required; PALS preferred based on unit specialty.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical nursing experience preferred; new graduates with relevant clinical rotations are encouraged to apply.
- Skills: Strong clinical judgment, critical thinking skills, and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced medical setting.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with patients, families, and colleagues.
- Computer Proficiency: Ability to navigate Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems and medical software efficiently.
