Responsibilities
- Assess patient health status by performing physical examinations and reviewing medical histories.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians in accordance with hospital protocols.
- Monitor patients' vital signs and report any significant changes to the charge nurse or physician immediately.
- Develop and implement individualized nursing care plans based on patient needs and outcomes.
- Educate patients and families on disease prevention, health maintenance, and post-discharge care instructions.
- Collaborate effectively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare team members to ensure coordinated care.
- Document patient care services accurately and timely in the electronic medical record (EMR).
Qualifications
- Current, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of New Mexico.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of nursing experience, preferably in a hospital or clinical setting.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred.
- Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills under pressure.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to lift, push, and pull patients as needed; physical stamina for prolonged periods.
