Responsibilities
- Deliver direct patient care in fast-paced weekend environments including emergency, ICU, and surgical units
- Administer medications and treatments with precision while maintaining accurate electronic health records
- Coordinate multidisciplinary care teams to ensure seamless patient transitions and continuity
- Implement evidence-based practices to optimize patient outcomes and reduce hospital-acquired conditions
- Mentor junior staff and participate in weekend-specific quality improvement initiatives
- Respond rapidly to emergency situations with calm, decisive clinical leadership
- Document care activities using Epic EMR systems with strict adherence to regulatory standards
Qualifications
- Active RN license in Colorado (Compact license accepted)
- BSN degree required (MSN preferred for senior roles)
- 2+ years acute care experience with weekend shift background
- BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications maintained
- Expertise in patient assessment, medication administration, and emergency protocols
- Proven ability to thrive in autonomous weekend decision-making environments
- Strong electronic health record proficiency (Epic preferred)
- Excellent communication skills for cross-shift handoffs and family interactions
