Responsibilities
- Patient Assessment & Care: Conduct thorough patient assessments and develop individualized care plans tailored to meet the unique needs of each patient.
- Medication Administration: Safely administer medications and treatments according to established protocols and physician orders.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and timely medical records, ensuring all patient interactions and care plans are thoroughly documented.
- Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with physicians, nurse practitioners, and the interdisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Emergency Response: Respond promptly to medical emergencies and assist in stabilizing patients in critical situations.
- Quality Improvement: Participate in quality improvement initiatives and adhere to hospital policies and regulatory standards.
Qualifications
- Licensure: Active, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license issued by the Texas Board of Nursing.
- Certifications: Current BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certifications required.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical nursing experience preferred, with specific experience in medical-surgical or telemetry nursing.
- Availability: Must be available to work weekends (Saturday and Sunday) and holidays as required.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with patients and families.
- Computer Proficiency: Familiarity with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems is a plus.
