Responsibilities
- Accurately submit and follow up on medical claims to various insurance carriers (Medicare, Medicaid, Commercial).
- Verify patient demographics and insurance eligibility to prevent claim denials.
- Analyze and appeal denied claims to maximize revenue recovery.
- Manage the accounts receivable process, ensuring timely payments.
- Maintain strict adherence to HIPAA regulations and billing compliance standards.
- Collaborate with providers and patients to resolve billing inquiries and discrepancies.
Qualifications
- CPC or CPC-A certification preferred (or equivalent experience).
- 2+ years of experience in medical billing, coding, or revenue cycle management.
- Proficiency in Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems and medical billing software (e.g., Epic, Athenahealth).
- Strong knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding guidelines.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication skills for both written correspondence and verbal interaction.
