Responsibilities
- Medication Preparation & Dispensing: Accurately receive, verify, and prepare prescriptions according to state and federal regulations.
- Inventory Management: Monitor stock levels, manage pharmaceutical inventory, and ensure timely reordering of medications and supplies.
- Patient Interaction: Provide exceptional customer service by answering patient questions regarding prescriptions, dosage, and potential drug interactions.
- Compliance & Safety: Adhere strictly to HIPAA guidelines and safety protocols to ensure patient privacy and medication safety.
- Quality Assurance: Assist in the quality control process, including checking labels, expiration dates, and dosage accuracy.
- Administrative Support: Maintain accurate records, process insurance claims, and assist pharmacists with administrative tasks.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current Pharmacy Technician certification (PTCB or ExCPT) required.
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required; Associate degree in Pharmacy Technology preferred.
- Experience: 1-3 years of experience in a retail or hospital pharmacy setting preferred.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with pharmacy management software and basic computer skills.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with patients and healthcare professionals.
- Attention to Detail: Strong ability to multitask and maintain high accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
