Responsibilities
- Perform accurate venipunctures and capillary draws with precision and care.
- Greet and prepare patients for blood collection, ensuring a calm and positive experience.
- Verify patient identity and ensure strict adherence to HIPAA compliance and privacy regulations.
- Maintain and sterilize phlebotomy equipment and supplies to ensure safety standards.
- Label, process, and transport specimens accurately to the laboratory for analysis.
- Collaborate with nurses and physicians to provide seamless patient care coordination.
- Manage electronic health records (EHR) and specimen documentation efficiently.
Qualifications
- Current Phlebotomy Technician certification (CPT) from an accredited institution.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a clinical or outpatient setting preferred.
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to interact with patients of all backgrounds.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
