Responsibilities
- Perform accurate venipunctures and capillary blood draws on patients of all ages, including infants, children, and adults.
- Ensure strict adherence to HIPAA and OSHA safety protocols for all specimens handled.
- Manage patient flow efficiently, maintaining a positive and reassuring demeanor during procedures.
- Process and label blood samples accurately for laboratory testing, ensuring chain of custody integrity.
- Collaborate with physicians and nursing staff to provide comprehensive patient care.
- Assist in the daily operation of the clinic, including inventory management and equipment sterilization.
Qualifications
- Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) or equivalent (ASPT, NCPT, or ASCP).
- Valid and active California State Phlebotomy License.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical experience preferred.
- Strong dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
- Excellent communication skills with a focus on patient comfort and safety.
- Ability to lift and move patients weighing up to 50 lbs when necessary.
