Responsibilities
- Accurately process medical claims and ensure timely reimbursement from insurance providers
- Verify patient demographics, insurance eligibility, and pre-authorizations
- Assign appropriate ICD-10 and CPT codes for diagnoses and procedures
- Manage accounts receivable and resolve billing discrepancies
- Adhere to HIPAA compliance and healthcare regulations
- Collaborate with clinical teams to clarify documentation issues
- Generate monthly reports on billing performance and denial trends
Qualifications
- 3+ years of medical billing experience with knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS codes
- Familiarity with EHR systems (Epic or Cerner preferred)
- Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or CPC certification required
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Experience with claim scrubbers and denial management tools
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently in a remote setting
- Knowledge of Florida Medicaid and Medicare regulations
