Responsibilities
- Process and submit medical claims to insurance companies with 99% accuracy
- Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits for all services
- Manage denial resolution and appeal processes for rejected claims
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA, CMS, and Alaska state regulations
- Generate monthly reports on billing performance and key metrics
- Collaborate with Anchorage-based providers to resolve billing discrepancies
- Utilize Epic and NextGen EHR systems for coding and documentation
Qualifications
- 3+ years of medical billing experience with ICD-10 and CPT coding
- Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or CPC certification required
- Proficiency in medical billing software (Epic, NextGen, or similar)
- Strong knowledge of Alaska Medicaid and commercial insurance plans
- Exceptional attention to detail and analytical problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Experience with remote work technology and secure data handling
