Responsibilities
- Review and process medical claims using CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS codes
- Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits coverage
- Submit electronic claims to insurance payers and follow up on denials
- Maintain accurate patient billing records and documentation
- Resolve billing discrepancies through payer and provider communication
- Ensure HIPAA compliance and confidentiality of patient data
- Analyze aging reports and report on key performance metrics
Qualifications
- 3+ years of medical billing and coding experience
- Certification (CPC, COC, or CCS) preferred
- Proficiency in medical billing software (e.g., Epic, Athenahealth)
- Strong knowledge of insurance claim processes
- Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with EHR systems and electronic claim submission
