Responsibilities
- Process and submit clean claims to insurance carriers and government payers
- Verify patient eligibility and benefits prior to service delivery
- Investigate and resolve claim denials/rejections through appeals and follow-ups
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA, CMS, and payer regulations
- Collaborate with clinical teams to document accurate coding and billing documentation
- Generate monthly reports on key performance metrics
- Stay updated on coding guidelines (CPT, ICD-10) and policy changes
Qualifications
- 3+ years of medical billing experience in physician or hospital settings
- Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or CPC credential preferred
- Expertise in claim scrubbing and denial management workflows
- Proficient with medical billing software (e.g., Epic, Athena, eClinicalWorks)
