Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood draws with precision and patient comfort
- Process and transport specimens to laboratory facilities while maintaining chain of custody
- Update electronic health records (EHR) with accurate specimen data and patient information
- Provide telehealth consultations for pre-procedure instructions and post-collection follow-up
- Maintain inventory of phlebotomy supplies and equipment
- Ensure HIPAA compliance in all remote and in-person interactions
- Train patients on home collection kits when applicable
Qualifications
- Active Phlebotomy Technician certification (ASCP, NCCT, or equivalent)
- Minimum 1 year clinical phlebotomy experience
- Valid Louisiana phlebotomy license
- Proficiency with telehealth platforms (e.g., Zoom, Doxy.me)
- Experience with EHR systems (Epic or Cerner preferred)
- CPR/BLS certification
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong communication skills for remote patient interactions
