Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms with sterile equipment and instruments prior to surgical procedures
- Assist surgeons during operations by passing instruments, holding retractors, and suturing under guidance
- Maintain sterile fields and ensure aseptic techniques throughout all procedures
- Operate advanced surgical equipment including endoscopic cameras and robotic systems
- Inventory and manage surgical supplies, ensuring optimal equipment readiness
- Collaborate with anesthesia and nursing teams for seamless patient care coordination
- Adhere to strict OSHA and hospital safety protocols for equipment handling
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or equivalent certification required
- Minimum 2 years of experience in operating room environments
- Expertise in handling advanced surgical equipment (laparoscopic, robotic, endoscopic)
- Strong knowledge of sterilization techniques and instrument processing
- Ability to thrive in fast-paced surgical settings with complex cases
- Excellent communication skills for interdisciplinary collaboration
- Current BLS certification and NJ surgical tech license
