Responsibilities
- Assess patient health problems and needs, developing and implementing comprehensive nursing care plans.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians and according to hospital protocols.
- Monitor patient vital signs and report any significant changes to the healthcare team immediately.
- Educate patients and their families on post-discharge care, medications, and wellness strategies.
- Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care in electronic health records (EHR).
- Respond to emergency situations calmly and effectively, utilizing critical thinking and quick decision-making skills.
Qualifications
- Current, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license to practice in the state of Indiana.
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- CPR/BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) required.
- ACLS certification preferred for specialty units.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical experience in a hospital or acute care setting preferred.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Commitment to patient safety and adherence to HIPAA regulations.
