Responsibilities
- Assess Patient Needs: Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and monitor vital signs to ensure optimal health outcomes.
- Administer Care: Provide direct patient care, including medication administration, wound care, and treatment procedures as prescribed by physicians.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records in accordance with hospital policies and HIPAA regulations.
- Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with physicians, therapists, and the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Patient Education: Educate patients and families on disease management, medications, and post-discharge care instructions.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to strict safety protocols and infection control measures to ensure a safe environment for all patients and staff.
Qualifications
- License: Current, active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Missouri (or compact state eligibility).
- Certifications: BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification required; PALS preferred based on unit.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of nursing experience preferred; new graduates encouraged to apply.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a focus on patient advocacy.
- Interpersonal: Strong ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
- Technical: Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems and medical equipment.
