Responsibilities
- Accurately code and submit medical claims using ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS systems
- Manage denial resolution and appeals processes for complex insurance claims
- Conduct thorough audits of billing documentation for compliance with HIPAA and CMS regulations
- Collaborate with physicians and insurance providers to resolve billing discrepancies
- Generate monthly revenue cycle reports and performance metrics
- Maintain patient confidentiality while handling sensitive financial data
- Train junior billing staff on best practices and system protocols
Qualifications
- 3+ years of medical billing experience with RCM platforms
- Certification in CPC, COC, or CCS preferred
- Expertise in Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurance billing
- Proficient in Epic or NextGen EHR systems
- Strong analytical skills with attention to financial detail
- Ability to manage high-volume claim submissions
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
- Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management or related field
