Responsibilities
- Accurately code and submit claims for complex medical procedures using CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS systems
- Conduct rigorous audits to identify and resolve billing discrepancies and denials
- Manage AR aging reports and implement collection strategies for high-dollar accounts
- Collaborate with physicians and insurance providers to resolve claim issues
- Train junior billing staff on compliance protocols and best practices
- Optimize charge entry processes to maximize reimbursement rates
Qualifications
- 3+ years of medical billing experience in a specialty clinic or hospital setting
- Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or CPC certification required
- Expertise in Medi-Cal, Medicare, and commercial insurance reimbursement
- Proficient with Epic, NextGen, or similar EHR systems
- Demonstrated success in reducing claim denial rates below 5%
- Strong analytical skills with attention to financial detail
