Responsibilities
- Accurately process and submit medical claims to insurance providers and government payers
- Conduct thorough claim audits to identify and resolve discrepancies
- Manage denial analysis and implement corrective action plans
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA, CMS, and payer-specific regulations
- Collaborate with clinical teams to ensure accurate coding and documentation
- Generate monthly performance reports for department leadership
- Maintain patient account balances and resolve billing inquiries
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of medical billing experience in a hospital or clinic setting
- Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or CPC certification required
- Expert knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems
- Proficiency with Epic, NextGen, or similar EHR platforms
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail
- Experience working with Medicare/Medicaid and commercial payers
- Bachelor's degree in Health Administration or related field preferred
