Responsibilities
- Accurately code medical services using CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS codes
- Submit claims to insurance companies and follow up on unpaid claims
- Manage patient billing inquiries and resolve discrepancies
- Analyze aging reports and identify claim denial trends
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA and healthcare regulations
- Collaborate with providers to optimize documentation
- Train junior billing staff on best practices
Qualifications
- 3+ years of medical billing experience in healthcare
- Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or AAPC certification
- Proficiency in Epic, Medisoft, or similar billing software
- Strong knowledge of insurance claim processes
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- High school diploma; associate degree preferred
