Responsibilities
- Accurately code and submit medical claims using ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS guidelines
- Manage denial resolution and appeals process with 95%+ success rate
- Conduct comprehensive patient account reconciliation and aging analysis
- Ensure HIPAA compliance and maintain strict confidentiality standards
- Collaborate with clinical teams to optimize charge capture processes
- Utilize advanced EHR systems (Epic/Cerner) for real-time claim tracking
- Train junior billing staff on industry best practices and regulatory updates
- Analyze billing performance metrics to identify revenue optimization opportunities
Qualifications
- 5+ years of medical billing experience in outpatient/physician practice settings
- Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or CPC credential required
- Expert knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurance protocols
- Proven proficiency in claim scrubbing tools (e.g., Change Healthcare, Navicure)
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy
- Experience with RCM analytics and revenue cycle dashboards
