In this pivotal role, you will oversee the revenue cycle management process, ensuring accuracy in claims submission and maximizing reimbursement for our practice. You will work closely with clinical staff and insurance payers to resolve complex billing issues.
Responsibilities
- Perform accurate medical coding and billing for a diverse patient population using ICD-10 and CPT guidelines.
- Submit claims to various insurance payers and clearinghouses electronically.
- Analyze and appeal denied claims to ensure maximum reimbursement.
- Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits prior to services.
- Manage accounts receivable (AR) aging reports and collect outstanding balances.
- Maintain strict compliance with HIPAA and healthcare regulations.
- Train junior staff on billing protocols and software usage.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in medical billing, collections, or revenue cycle management.
- CPC (Certified Professional Coder) or RHIT (Registered Health Information Technician) certification is strongly preferred.
- Proficient in medical billing software (Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth, or similar).
- Strong knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and private payer policies.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced remote or hybrid environment.
