Responsibilities
- Manage the end-to-end medical billing and claims submission process to ensure timely reimbursement.
- Review and resolve denied or rejected claims efficiently using denial management strategies.
- Verify patient insurance eligibility and communicate coverage details to patients.
- Collaborate with medical coders to ensure accurate coding (ICD-10, CPT) and documentation.
- Monitor accounts receivable and follow up on outstanding balances.
- Generate and analyze billing reports to identify trends and improve revenue cycle performance.
- Train junior staff members on billing protocols and software updates.
Qualifications
- Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or RHIT/RHIA certification preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in medical billing and revenue cycle management.
- Strong working knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding guidelines.
- Proficiency in EMR systems such as Epic or Cerner.
- Excellent attention to detail and analytical problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
