Responsibilities
- Dispense and compound medications with precision while adhering to all regulatory standards
- Verify prescription accuracy and counsel patients on medication usage and side effects
- Maintain precise inventory control and ordering systems for controlled substances
- Collaborate with pharmacists to optimize medication therapy management
- Utilize pharmacy software (e.g., Omnicell, QS/1) for dispensing and documentation
- Ensure HIPAA compliance and maintain strict confidentiality protocols
- Train and mentor junior pharmacy technicians
Qualifications
- Current Texas Pharmacy Technician license required
- Minimum 2 years of retail or hospital pharmacy experience
- CPhT (Certified Pharmacy Technician) certification preferred
- Proficiency in pharmacy management software and electronic health records
- Strong attention to detail with proven accuracy in medication dispensing
- Excellent communication skills for patient interactions and team collaboration
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs
- Background check and drug screening clearance
