Responsibilities
- Dispense prescription medications with 100% accuracy and verify dosages
- Manage pharmaceutical inventory and order supplies efficiently
- Counsel patients on medication usage and side effects
- Maintain HIPAA-compliant patient records and billing systems
- Collaborate with pharmacists on clinical initiatives
- Train and mentor junior pharmacy technicians
- Ensure compliance with NYS pharmacy regulations
Qualifications
- NYS Pharmacy Technician license (required)
- ASHP certification or PTCB credential
- 3+ years hospital or retail pharmacy experience
- Proficiency in pharmacy management software (e.g., Omnicell, QS/1)
- Strong knowledge of drug interactions and compounding
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work efficiently in high-pressure environments
