Responsibilities
- Accurately dispense and verify medications following HIPAA and FDA regulations
- Manage prescription processing, inventory control, and compounding tasks
- Provide exceptional patient counseling on medication usage and side effects
- Collaborate with pharmacists and healthcare providers to ensure optimal patient outcomes
- Maintain electronic health records (EHR) systems with precision
- Train and mentor junior pharmacy technicians
- Participate in quality assurance initiatives and compliance audits
Qualifications
- Active Texas Pharmacy Technician license (PTCB or ExCPT certified)
- Minimum 2 years hospital or retail pharmacy experience
- Proficiency in pharmacy software (e.g., Omnicell, QS/1)
- Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical calculations and compounding
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work efficiently in high-pressure environments
- CPR certification preferred
- Background check and drug screen required
