Responsibilities
- Accurately dispense and verify medications in accordance with state and federal regulations
- Manage inventory control systems including ordering, receiving, and stock rotation
- Process prescription orders and maintain patient medication records
- Collaborate with pharmacists on sterile compounding and IV admixtures
- Provide exceptional patient education on medication usage and side effects
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA and pharmacy safety protocols
- Train and mentor junior pharmacy technicians
Qualifications
- Active Massachusetts Pharmacy Technician license required
- 2+ years of hospital pharmacy experience preferred
- CPhT certification through PTCB strongly preferred
- Proficiency in pharmacy management software (e.g., Omnicell, QS/1)
- Strong attention to detail and mathematical accuracy
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a high-pressure environment
- Basic knowledge of sterile compounding techniques
