Responsibilities
- Accurately dispense prescription medications under pharmacist supervision
- Manage inventory control and medication ordering systems
- Process insurance claims and patient billing transactions
- Provide patient medication counseling and education
- Maintain sterile compounding areas and IV preparations
- Utilize pharmacy software for prescription processing
- Ensure compliance with DEA and FDA regulations
- Train junior pharmacy technicians on protocols
Qualifications
- Active California Pharmacy Technician license (PTCB or ExCPT certified)
- Minimum 2 years retail/hospital pharmacy experience
- Proficiency in pharmacy management systems (e.g., QS1, Omnicell)
- Strong knowledge of HIPAA and pharmacy regulations
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs
- Basic IV compounding certification preferred
- Spanish bilingual a plus for diverse patient population
