Responsibilities
- Medication Preparation: Accurately receive, count, pour, compound, and package medications for dispensing to patients.
- Prescription Verification: Verify the accuracy of prescriptions, checking for drug interactions and allergies under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Inventory Management: Monitor stock levels, manage incoming shipments, and ensure proper storage and rotation of pharmaceutical products.
- Customer Service: Interact with patients to provide information about medications, answer questions, and resolve complaints in a professional manner.
- Regulatory Compliance: Adhere to all state and federal laws, such as HIPAA and DEA regulations, ensuring strict confidentiality and compliance.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, prescription files, and inventory logs using our Electronic Health Record (EHR) system.
Qualifications
- Certification: Currently certified as a Pharmacy Technician (ExCPT or PTCB) or eligible to sit for the exam.
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; Associate's degree in Pharmacy Technology preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a retail or hospital pharmacy setting preferred.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional ability to perform repetitive tasks with high accuracy and maintain focus in a fast-paced environment.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with diverse populations.
- Technical Proficiency: Comfortable using computerized pharmacy systems and medical software.
