Responsibilities
- Accurately dispense prescription medications with zero-error verification protocols
- Manage automated dispensing systems and maintain precise pharmaceutical inventory controls
- Compounding sterile/non-sterile preparations following USP 797 standards
- Provide comprehensive medication counseling to patients and healthcare providers
- Oversee pharmacy technician team workflow and training initiatives
- Ensure HIPAA compliance and meticulous record-keeping for controlled substances
- Collaborate with pharmacists on clinical interventions and patient safety protocols
Qualifications
- Active New York State Pharmacy Technician license (PHT-1)
- PTCB or ExCPT certification with 3+ years of retail/hospital experience
- Proficiency in pharmacy management systems (e.g., QS/1, Omnicell)
- Compounding certification preferred
- Exceptional attention to detail with proven medication error prevention record
- Strong communication skills for patient education and team collaboration
- Ability to maintain composure in high-volume, fast-paced environments
- Basic IV certification (or willingness to obtain within 30 days)
