Responsibilities
- Accurately dispense and verify prescription medications while maintaining HIPAA compliance
- Manage inventory control systems including ordering, receiving, and stock rotation
- Provide exceptional patient counseling on medication usage and side effects
- Collaborate with pharmacists to optimize medication therapy management
- Maintain precise records in pharmacy software systems (e.g., Omnicell, QS/1)
- Train and mentor junior pharmacy technicians on best practices
- Coordinate with healthcare providers regarding prescription clarifications
Qualifications
- Active Nebraska Pharmacy Technician certification (PTCB/ExCPT)
- Minimum 2 years hospital or retail pharmacy experience
- Proficiency in pharmacy dispensing technology and inventory management
- Strong attention to detail with zero-error medication dispensing record
- Excellent communication skills for patient interactions
- Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced clinical environments
- Basic knowledge of sterile compounding procedures preferred
- Valid CPR certification
