Responsibilities
- Accurately dispense prescription medications and verify dosages under pharmacist supervision
- Manage inventory control, including ordering, receiving, and tracking pharmaceutical supplies
- Process insurance claims and maintain patient medication records with HIPAA compliance
- Counsel patients on medication usage, side effects, and adherence protocols
- Operate automated dispensing systems and maintain sterile compounding areas
- Train junior pharmacy staff on pharmacy software and regulatory standards
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to optimize patient medication therapy
Qualifications
- Active Arizona Pharmacy Technician certification (PTCB or ExCPT)
- Minimum 2 years of retail or hospital pharmacy experience
- Proficiency in pharmacy management software (e.g., QS/1, Omnicell)
- Strong knowledge of FDA regulations and pharmacy safety protocols
- Excellent communication skills and ability to multitask in high-pressure environments
- High school diploma or equivalent; pharmacy technician certification preferred
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds
